YOU + ME

Wedding Photography: Admittedly, I have a soft spot for Virginia City weddings, but will enthusiastically cover other areas in Northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Gold Hill, Genoa, Gardnerville, Minden, the Sierra-Nevada Mountains, June Lake, Mono Lake, and beyond. I'll go anywhere in the world with you, but my normal scope of work for a single day event includes travel up to 35 miles from home base... Virginia Foothills, NV [ MAP ].

Philosophy: "Photography is an art, Photoshop is a program". With the popularity of digital cameras, there is an endless sea of "photographers" out there anxious to take a crack at shooting your wedding. Please make sure whoever you hire as your wedding photographer can show you examples of good, solid, photography skills first without any of the special effects.

Your Day:
Planning your special event will be a very unique experience. You've probably already come to realize how quickly the details are
adding up on your "I DO" list? As soon as you decide that you would like to book my services for your wedding, the sooner I can lift some of the weight off of your shoulders. I will make every effort to ensure that the photography flows smoothly with your other wedding plans. If you're utilizing a wedding planner, musician, DJ, I will be more than happy to work directly with them in coordinating our talents. At the very least I will want to communicate with the Priest or Officiant who is performing your ceremony.

Basics: Please be able to provide the location, time, and date of your wedding. I really need to know this :) A deposit is required to secure your shooting date(s) in advance. If we have not communicated and no deposit has been received, then I have not been booked as your photographer. If you must cancel your plans a refund is provided as follows:  More than 90 days from your wedding date... full refund. Less than 90 days... 75%. Less than 60 days... 50%. Less than 30 days... 15%. Two weeks or less... no refund. The final balance is due within the same week of your event date.

Pricing: Rates will vary depending on the coverage needed... travel, time(s), date(s), location(s), and size of your wedding. Just the two of you eloping? How fun! I can offer you a very personal experience starting at just $295 with up to 1.5 hours of photo presence... $150 deposit

If you're having a small ceremony (20 people) at a comfy B&B, chapel, farm, cave, back yard, cemetery, tree house, creekside, meadow, an intimate experience with up to 3 hours of coverage can be provided starting at just $795... $300 deposit.

Perhaps an exciting all day affair is planned, with pre-ceremony, wedding, post-ceremony, and reception coverage desired? Coverage starts at $1,395 for up to 6 hours of presence. $1,795 for up to 8 hours... $600 deposit.

Add wedding album (10x10 or 12x12 / 10, 20, 30 pages)... Price
Add keepsake boxed prints (holds up to 200 unmounted or 40 mounted 5x7 prints)... Price
Add Canvas print (8x10 up to 30x48) ... Price
Add Aluminum print (8x10 up to 30x48)... Price

Depending on how large your wedding is, a second photographer may automatically be introduced for adequate coverage. Give some serious thought and consideration to what your needs and expectations are and then we can develop a plan together. Above all, feel free to contact me at any time that you have questions. I'm here to help you!

Compliments: The photographer retains the copyrights to all images, but as part of every wedding shoot you will receive your wedding images on a CD/DVD, color and light corrected, minor blemish retouching, with printing rights that allow you to make your own set of small prints. If you're requesting extensive retouching on your images the billable rate is $40 per hour.

During an event, a surprisingly large amount of photos are taken. Sometimes the flash does not go off, or everyone has their eyes closed, or images are blurry, over and under exposed. Those usually get deleted. The images shown and made available to you after your event will be at the artistic and professional discretion of the photographer. For a full day wedding, you can expect to receive at least 250-350 nice images and memories on CD/DVD.

You will also be able to select images from the CD/DVD to have complimentary prints created and shipped to you at no charge. The number of prints and sizes are based on your final wedding coverage.

Prints:
Usually within 11-15 working days a smaller, private photo gallery of your images will be posted online, allowing you, family and friends, to order professional prints through one of my photo labs and shipped directly to you.

Base fees begin with the notion of shooting at a single location, one photographer, up to 35 miles of travel. Your fee can vary for weekends, holidays, or if your ceremony is at one location and the reception another. You may also like to have pictures taken at the historic B&B you are staying the day before/after your wedding?
Our shoot begins as soon as we start taking pictures and will continue for the time of our agreement. Additional hours can be added to any shoot at a rate of $120 per hour if there are no scheduling conflicts.

Elopements: I will gladly stand in as your official witness if needed :)

Investment: I see this word used quite often as a marketing term. I believe that as a couple your real investment is in each other, and the stories and memories you create are what holds the value. There are many products available that can incorporate your wedding photos. If you're interested in coffee table books, large prints on canvas and aluminum, keepsake boxed photos, or other items, please share your thoughts on how you would like to preserve your special day and we can explore options.

Location: If I am not familiar with an area or venue, I will normally try and visit the site prior to the actual shoot date to see what options are available as far as lighting and composition. If that's not possible, I may ask that someone send me a few snapshots of the venue via email. If your event is outdoors, know that direct sunlight (high noon) can result in very harsh shadows, extreme contrast, and people squinting in photos. Some outdoor events take place under trees or tents for that very reason. When fill lights are needed to minimize these lighting anomalies, I will make every effort to keep the light looking as natural as possible.

Finale': Often newlyweds feel the obligation to entertain their guest immediately after the ceremony. This just happens to be the best time to take photos of you, your wedding party, and family, while everyone is still somewhat organized. If you're having friends and family members stand in with you for photos, please develop a list of "people groups" so that we can assemble folks in a timely fashion. We will also want to pull the bride and groom aside to capture some private, blissful shots together. For the most part, people are very understanding during the photography process, but you can only keep Uncle Ed away from the bar and buffet for so long.

Promotion: Unless otherwise negotiated, the photographer owns the copyrights to all original images and may use them (tastefully) at his descretion for self promotional purposes. If I am contacted by a 3rd party who sees an image of "you" that they would like to use for a product promotion, tourism, advertising, martketing, etc., you will be contacted for your permission to use the image as well as any fees that you should receive for the use of your likeness.

Liability: The photographer is an outside entity brought into your inner circle. Weddings are sometimes fertile ground for family drama. If threatened, intimidated, or harmed in any way during your event, the photographer (me) has the right to leave the location with no further obligation to fulfill any remaining coverage time. All photos taken up to that point will be considered the final shoot.

The photographer has also made a substantial financial investment in equipment and is completely committed to covering your ceremony or event. A spare or backup piece of photo equipment is also brought to your event... "just in case". Meaning, the photographer's eyes are on you and not his equipment. You are liable for any of the photographer's equipment or personal items damaged, stolen, or adversely effected by individuals attending your event/ceremony.

Great personal care is taken for every assignment to insure that you receive the best results possible. From beginning to end, the client is always on my mind, first and foremost. However, in the unlikely event that the photographer fails to comply with the agreement or a dispute arises between the photographer and client, the photographer's liability is limited to a full refund of all fees and deposits. If applicable, travel fees may not be refundable.

Thank you for your consideration!
Kev
